Sneak Peek

Allow me to explain the meaning behind my blog ID and my blog title. First and foremost, I would like to say that for the past couple of weeks I have been dying to come up with 'the name' for my blog. I searched and reflected on all possible things that come closest to me. I told myself and to some of my friends that if I'm going to start another blog again- I have to have a carefully thought of name, title and the works. For me, there has to be some reason for coming up with such things. Although I'm not a web guru in cases where html or whatever blogosphere term you may call it, I'll just have to settle and focus on one of my skills which is writing.

  • MYRTLE GARDEN - two words. I first encountered the word 'myrtle' in the Harry Potter series of books written by Ms JK Rowling. Myrtle is actually one of the ghost characters who haunt the girl's lavatory in Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. She's actually called Moaning Myrtle. Sounds paradoxical? Yeah- because how can she moan when her name is Myrtle, which actually means joy, right? Anyway, I must admit that it was just the other day when I got to know that myrtle is a flower when, again, I was researching on the language of flowers. The flower connotes love and joy and according to victorianbazaar.com it is a Hebrew emblem for marriage. What I like about it is its symbolical meaning - love and joy. These two virtues are what I like to be the theme of my blog- always positive, happy and always in the light of Love. Garden- because like any garden, I would want to cultivate it so it will always yield fruits, always exuding beauty and attraction to many. It can also be a source of relaxation, a venue for solitude and social gatherings. It is through my blog that I can freely express myself- not forgetting that with freedom comes responsibility on my part and me- sharing the love and joy I can give through my articles. • Additional note: "In Greek mythology, myrtle was said to be sacred to Aphrodite. The traditions of brides wearing a crown of myrtle on their wedding day was common in Ancient Greece." taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrtle
  • Satin Wings - Let us first decompose this. Satin as we all know is a kind of textile. Interestingly enough, not many of us know that satin also belongs to the flora category. Satin flower means sincerity. At first, I thought of coming up with Satin Thoughts but that would be too common so I pondered upon a 'thing' that can be substituted to thoughts. Since I like butterflies, why not use the part which makes them utterly beautiful? Their wings. This brings me to my tagline, "The wings of butterflies come with beauty and intricate designs." Many of us let the smallest of things pass. We do not pay attention and do not notice that at some point, beauty can be seen in the particulars. That is why I would like to highlight that small things should not go unnoticed. Small things, even ordinary things matter. I would like to go on and on about this, but I have a section coming up on 'the smallest of things'. So that's it for now.
